Question: What do you take to a gig these days?

Typically, if I'm using my own full rig:

Rock N Roller R8 cart
2 electrics in my Mono M-80 double bag
My big pedalboard
Usually my Bogner combo, sometimes Boogie or Fender
My accessories bag
Amp stand
mike stand
tablet holder for mike stand
sometimes 3-space guitar stand, mostly a single stand that fits in my pedalboard case

If it's a travel gig with rented backline:

2 electrics in my Mono M-80 double bag
My medium pedalboard

These days ....nothing.... as I am not gigging :(
Last time I was gigging it was just some solo stuff.

Maybe a Tele, just in case

Classic 30
1x12 extension cab
Backpack full of odds and ends

2 powered 18"subs
2 powered Mackie 15 thumps
2 passive Monitors
amp rack
big tote box for cables,mics,etc
Flight Case containing Yamaha MG 24 board
2 guitars(usually a Les Paul and a Tele)

2 light stands
2 racks of LED lights
Handtrucks

I haven't gigged in over a decade, but in my last band, I took a guitar, amp, dirt pedal, a tuner, picks, an extra pack of strings and some cables.

4 Alto powered speakers
1 Kustom powered speaker
1 Alto powered sub
mixer rack
all the stands, mics, cords
my bag of tricks: adapters like xlr to trs, cords I've made like 1/8 stereo to 2 rca. Basically to be ready for any curve ball someone throws at me.

the last show i played was a benefit show up in Portland, ME. i brought two guitars (Charvel Model 1 and a Gibson LP Custom), my pedalboard, a Marshall JCM800 2203 head (prior agreement with another band on the bill to use one of their cabs), an extension cord, a power strip, strings, winder, extra set of tubes for the amp, fuses for the amp, an extra guitar cable, a few extra patch cables for the pedal board, a bunch of extra picks, a multi-tool (the one that's like a swiss army knife but with different flippable hex, screwdriver, knife, scissor combinations) and a huge roll of duct tape.

I always take at least 2, or and more often 3, guitars, to a gig, and that's just for string breakage or other possible tech probs, not for alternate tunings oor anything like that. And that's for a single set for Crash Pad, not all night.

Same for church gigs, but it's easier there, because I keep some axes there and don't have to haul all of them.

As for amps and PA, the latter is always supplied at the places I play, whether for Crash Pad or of course church.

For amps, in church my Super Champ XD stays there, mic'd, so it's plug-and-play except for the monthly Saturday night gigs, at which I bring my MosValve 1x12 and slave it to the Super Champ to spread out the sound a bit. For Crash Pad I always bring my halfstack rig, Sovtek 50W head and Risson 4x12. A bit of a pain at my age but the cab is on casters so it's not that bad.

Rock and roll ain't for sissies.

oooooo Model 1!!!

I have a fondness for those old Model 1 and Model 2 pieces

the charvel was my first "real" guitar and my third guitar i ever owned (first was the R-ondo strat-type, and second was a BC Rich platinum series strat-type that my dad and i modded). it's an incredibly well put-together guitar. totally stripped down - one volume knob, one pickup, blocked trem. i played half the show on the model 1 and the other half on the Custom. it definitely holds its own.

i take: my Strat, my Blues Deluxe and three pedals (Marshall Guv'nor, MXR Dyna Comp, and Digitech Delay) and associated cables.

that's it.
