What instrument is creating this sound?

I like the guitar in this song, but there's a sound that start around 59 seconds into it that I can't figure out what it is.
Anyone have an idea?

The low grumbly sound? Maybe a synth set to “tuba?”

At first I thought it was a baritone sax but it just sounds like some fat analog synth to me.

Yeah, first thought is a synth.

Actual first thought was this, but I think I hear some transitions in there that would hard to do with feet.

Yeah, that is definitely one of those synth pads..... our sound guy has some of those recorded and he has used them when tuning a sound system.

When that shit slides down into BONE RATTLING lows, it can be quite alarming.
