Who is the best band in the world right now?

That's not Zumi, that's Carson McHone. She had (and still has) a well respected indie/altcountry/Americana solo career before she joined The Outfit

.

I like Zumi too though!

I thought she did quite a change if it was her :embarrassed: they do somewhat have the same facial features though and the tambourine thing

Tangent: Have any of you folks ever seen a Greco Rickenbacker copy like this?

I've never seen such a thing, but I think it sounds great. I rarely come across a regular Ric, let alone lawsuit copies.

He always has a great touring band.
I am going to The Freaks on Parade show on Sunday .Sunday.

It's a great tour, I caught it last week. Filter is REALLY loud, by the way.

My playlists of artists currently releasing new music has primarily been:

Scary Pockets
Cory Wong / Victor Wooten / Nate Smith
Black Pumas
Foo Fighters
Dua Lipa
Demi Lovato

Beyond that, I've been listening to a lot of late 90's, early 2000's music. A lot of fun stuff there. :baimun:

Have you tried Olivia Rodrigo?

Taylor Swift!!!!

She's the pop dominator and has been for a long while.

And she has great guitars.

I absolutely hate that little tart and every single one of her knock off, carbon copy, teenage angst, turd burgers that she puts out.

To hear her talking in an interview about "Myyyy music" or "when we wrote this..." with this cocky swagger like she's been turning out records that will live on past the next fashion trend, it's so painfully devoid of perspective... and every single song is "Oh that sounds like it was cut and pasted from an Avril record.... oh that one sounds just like Katy Perry.... now that one is exactly a Taylor Swift song, but she says 'fuck' a few times... because oooohhh.. she's soooo edgy..." :puke:

Her records are fun. A solid comp is probably the first two or three Weezer records. Also, it’s ripped off, but so was that first Elastica record and that thing is a blast.

Stop being Hoosier Beato.

If @baimun wants to get his nose out of joint re: Olivia Rodrigo, there’s a case to be made for her bogarting her deal from a LBGTQA+ POC DIY artist going by Pom Pom Squad whose “Skirt Cobain Meets David Lynch” thing is a bit more art school but not wholly unlike Rodrigo’s act. And Rodrigo’s Sour definite raised some eyebrows given it’s overall vibes being similar to Death of a Cheerleader. That said, my take is “It’s the fucking zeitgeist, maaaaan.”

Pom Pom Squad (in full band configuration) rips. And another fun pop punk/90s alt throwback band that is a solid time live is the atrociously named but excellently put together Illuminati Hotties.

I'm mainly going to see Alice, and Filter.
I don't care for the other two.

Alice is always amazing in my experience. Rob Zombie put on a great show, though we didn't stay for the whole thing. Ministry was, surprisingly, boring - and I'm a fan.

I wonder how the band appreciated doing Nocturne Child at such a high tempo. It's not nearly that fast on the record. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing though.

My vote for 'best band' goes to whatever band of aliens comes down and abducts the guys in Radiohead then pulls off some alien magic to erase their recordings and people's memories of them from the earth. Then returns to their home planet and makes the Radiohead guys their prisoners. Forever.
