F*CKF*CKF*CKF*CK... Tom Petty in critical conditon after cardiac arrest

Jammin' Me has been on my daily playlist for the past couple of months. It seems like a song of the times, for some reason.

    What was your last concert?

Dada, month before last. Mike Gurley is a guitar God, but the sound was way too loud for the room. I had Donald Fagen tickets for last month, but he canceled.

    What was your first concert?

Dad took me to see Brewer and Shipley at the college chapel. We had no idea what a "toke" was. They were pretty good. Played more than a few Dylan covers. Great harmonies and great, big Guild guitars.

    R.I.P. Walter Becker (Steely Dan)

I'd go with Aja, Two Against Nature, and Katy Lied. Though I've probably listened more to Becker's 1st solo album than any Dan record in the past few years. I really like that record! I've really been trying to get into his second record, Circus Money, since yesterday. It has some great lyrics...

    R.I.P. Walter Becker (Steely Dan)

His first solo outing, 11 Tracks of Whack, has been a desert island album of mine since it came out. It's a textbook full of great bridges, lyrically and musically. Sorry to see him go.

The Bicycle / Biking Gear Thread

Chain ring bolts are always suspect when it comes to creaks. And an easy fix for the fumble fingered. (wave) Sometimes a simple tightening fixes, other times disassembling, cleaning, and putting them back together with a little bit of bike sauce (grease) solves. Or it could be the BB.

    The Whiskey Thread

I've still always got a bottle of the Balvenie Doublewood around, but mostly I've been drinking Manhattans made with Port and Bulleit Rye. We stumbled upon the Port variation when we ran out of Vermouth one day and now it's the new default. There's some Woodfords in the cabinet too. I've really...

    Headlight Cleaning Part 2

The 3M kit worked like a charm. It came with three grades of velcro backed paper for the disk. The first two dry grades made quick work of the foggy surface layer. Then there's a wet wheel used to polish the lens with water. Finally there's a foam disc used with a polishing compound. The kit...

    Headlight Cleaning Part 2

Eerily, I was just going out to the garage to do this on my truck headlamps. I got the 3M kit from Amazon this week.
