WTF: Another Shooting Spree

Still awaiting actual source, not media interpretation...

I could go shopping for the chart that suits some agenda and come up with whatever fits my so called needs. Start here:
https://www.google.com/search?q=mass shootings statistics by year&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=rViXU9_MMKKV8QG99oCACQ&ved=0CB4QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=897

Let's see. The results are all over the place. Charts mean nothing as we will all see...

All rather pointless, huh.

Are we DONE here?
:dh:

It says right in the article it's from FBI statistics. It looks like it's the same data as presented in this chart more or less.

OK, I'll type slower... RAW data source.

You are boring the fuck out of me so come up with something of value or simply step away, unless you are one of those last word trolls.

Don't get mad, bro. Chill out with me and Karl Farbman. Do you like a nice dresser?

We need to all strive for a Blanchardesque smoothness.

Not mad at all, but this circle jerk is pointless and a waste of bandwidth.

I simply give up, with one lingering thought...

Yeah, it's from the super secret zealots at Boston.com.

http://www.boston.com/community/blogs/crime_punishment/2013/01/mass_shootings_not_trending.html

The figure below displays the number of mass shootings -- incidents and victims -- from 1976 through 2010. These reflect all mass shootings in which at least four victims were killed that had been reported to the FBI by local law enforcement authorities as part of the routine collection of crime statistics.

Face the facts, nothing is worse than what it has been (in fact, better) it's only public perception that's changed.

Or here:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/12/03/fbi-mass-killing-data-inaccurate/3666953/

USA TODAY's data debunks common beliefs. For example, it shows that the number of mass killings has not increased in recent years; most occur among family members; and handguns, not assault weapons, are most commonly used.

Regardless of any of this, people from both sides will spin / change / distort statistics to prove that the moon landing was faked in JFK's secret sex lair to fit their claims.

I see your point.

Here's a link to the fbi active shooter incidences from 2000-2012. Doesn't look like it's decreasing to me.

That being said, I agree with the sentiments stated about crazy finding a way, even if you could magically get rid of all the firearms in America.

Just a question and I don't know the answer. But do other developed countries have shooting deaths near the number we have in the US? I know most other countries restrict guns way more than the US does. I think saying deaths are going up in down isn't really the issue, it is where we are in relation to the rest of the world. If you ask me, 1 mass shooting a year is 1 too many.

No, not even close.

And this is a valid point. Whether the incidence of gun violence in the US has leveled off, or is slowly declining, the number of injuries and fatalities is exponentially higher here than pretty much everywhere else in the first world.

We're first amongst developed countries... I think six or seventh on the undeveloped.

In general, 64 percent of people prefer bacon over sausage on breakfast sandwiches. But among those who say they have achieved success in both their personal and professional lives, 81 percent prefer bacon over sausage on breakfast sandwiches.
