Achtung! Chicagotonians

The only Broadway I’m familiar with is between Speedway and 22nd st.

I'd like to know how many Broadways there are shorter than this one. one. https://www.google.com/maps/place/B...377d50b1e57942!8m2!3d39.8002176!4d-89.6524463

ps There was some vid on youtube about Tucson experiencing a (possibly exaggerated) environmental renaissance and the narrator pronounced it with the emphasis on SON, rhyming with bon in bon jovi. Definitely one my favorite pronunciations.

Are you saying it’s not
DdBob thinks humidity is a conspiracy of meteorologists

that's good, especially with no need to find parking

Pretty sure there's an opening for a ranting youtube meteorologist. This is my latest $$$$ career suggestion DdBob will not cash in on. :cop:

Our Broadway is fairly long

They already have a ranting youtube forecaster.....

Don't think that's a rant but I would tune in to you saying "big heat wave in Tucson, Arizona and surrounding areas" over and over again.

but I already do that for free here(just not video) and you don't even have to "like, subscribe, ring the notification bell or support me on Patreoon" ....it's all free and unsolicited :)

I lived about 6 or 7 blocks from there! (Hollywood and Clark)
We lived on Hermitage (next street over from Paulina) from September 2002 to September 2003 and then bought a condo on Paulina and lived there for 2 years. Then we built a house out in Aurora because I was working in Downers Grove and my wife worked up near St. Charles.
Then we both took jobs on the southside of Chicago ( 35th and Giles!!!!) and drove over an hour each way for the next 6 years. During winter it was about 2 hours each way.

Andersonville, about 1.5 hours ago.

I went for a (short) run at 6am and it was like running through lukewarm soup. Still glad I went then rather than waiting any later

And on the other end I had a picture of when I was pumping gas and it was -6. Chicago gets ALL the temperatures.
Yup. Sometimes we get all the temperatures in the matter of a day or so. If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change.

Has anybody done a welfare check on Peen? I'm concerned about him....haven't heard a peep since this heatwave approached Chicago

Not dead. Just wish I was. AC is out in the old trash wagon and had to roll down to Michigan and Cermak at noon. Traffic was a beast on the way home and that was unpleasant. But my internal thermostat is all goofed up because of the temp situation at my job over the last 7 years so it’s pretty easy for me to just shrug off gnarly weather anymore.

Well I’m glad you aren’t a casualty of the heat wave :)

Trash wagon with no AC high five! I need to decide how to deal with that before I head down to real swamp ass country

Do you have a broken ac or one of those cars that never came with one from the factory?

Broken (it was working fine last season, but is blowing totally non-cooled air this summer).

The car (95 corolla) has been on its last legs for a while now (sagging engine mounts, all sorts of road and wind noise, check engine light has been on for years now for an emissions issue (it's old enough to count as an antique and be exempt from emissions testing locally), some electrical issues, it's developed a new intermittent stuttering thing where it loses power briefly, etc... A new (used) car is in my near future, but it would make much more sense to buy in NC (way cheaper taxes and fees), so I'd like to be able to nurse it along long enough for the move if I can. I'm going to take it in next week to get some estimates on what it would take to make sure it's at least safe; not sure I'm up for a drive to/in NC in the summer with no AC either
