I never use batteries with my pedals but I thought I would use a 9v for my new wah-wah's pedal to make life easier. I haven't used the pedal more than turning it on to make sure it worked when I got it it but I figured I would use it on some recordings this week so I got some batteries. With the new battery in the pedal it didn't sound very good, which I figured was because I wasn't accustomed to this particular wah. After last night's livestream I shut everything off but forgot to unplug the cable from my pedal and when I came in to teach this morning thought that I had wasted the battery but now after having the cable plugged in for 20+ hours the pedal actually has more usable range in the sweep of the wah. I know all of the Eric Johnson battery BS and how some fuzz pedals work better with batteries but does that apply to brand new made in 2020 was pedals? Should I shop for those stupid zinc-carbon batteries instead of what I'm using and just expect to change batteries more often?
