    Hot or Not? yamaha revstar

For some reason the MIJ model is twice the price in Japan as it is over here.....can't figure that one out.

Yup, pretty good deal, someone will appreciate that, my new one was about 80GBP more expensive, but it'll have my finger marks on that satin top ;)

I'd tend to agree. if you went in around the $700 mark then I'm guessing you went from the 720, ie flamey tops, Alnico pickups, the bigger neck etc. I really only wanted the MIJ 20CR, but couldn't afford it, so went for a demo price 820, which is basically the same spec as the 20CR, but no...

The guitar I've owned the longest is my Roadstar bass, however I think this thread needs closing for posting that f*ck*g carpet....that's an offense that far outweighs anything I can think of

Well, after this thread got me going again, I'm putting my MIJ RSP20CR on hold for now, and while doing a search for an 820, on the 12th page of Google searches I found this lovely Rusty Rat at £550 in a little guitar shop, ex-demo job. I must be honest I will keep it for a bit but I want...

You can't call then Reverndy in looks as the overall shape is based on 60s and 70s Yamahas

Yes, the 820 I'd buy if they did it in flat black, so I'm gonna save a few more quid and have the MIJ RSP20CR. It'll go beautifully with my SA700

Question: To pot or not to pot my Les Paul's PAFs?

If it's a Les Paul you really like playing and it feels good in your hands, you owe it to it, to give it some good pickups. They don't have to be Throbaks or stupid price replacements, but there are a lot of good winders making some great pickups for not a lot of money

Agile Guitars - is it possible to discuss them?

Chapmans have used a number of factories, Mirr maybe one of them, they've also used Rainbow Music in China, and obviously there's Made in England stuff

Agile Guitars - is it possible to discuss them?

I don't know about now, refer to my previous answer much of Agiles range were unsold Shines (Saein Corporation)

Agile Guitars - is it possible to discuss them?

Quite a bit of factual inexactitude here, some Agiles originally came from Saein Corporation (Korea), then the Chinese Saein or Shine guitars started turning up branded as Douglas. Also many of Chapmans better guitars came from the same factory as PRS SEs, World Music International

New Gretsch: strong contender for worst guitar ever.

We still like the odd crucifixion over at HCEG....feel free to come over :)
