I'm not opposed to you going through guitars. In fact, i'm envious, and a wee bit jealous. I totally wish I could own as many as you've owned, and I understand the hunt, and the hunt is fun! I think we're all a little envious that you have the ability to own such great guitars looking for keepers, that is truly awesome.

I feel bad for saying what you stated was asinine, not cool on my part, so i'm genuinely sorry for that, I feel like a jackass.

I think the reason I got bent out of shape was that i'm a strat guy. I love strats. I've gone through alot of them. I have alot of experience with them. And what i've found about strats, is that *you never know until you give it a go*. Strats are funny. Simple, easily manufactured, and everywhere. However, in my experience, certain strats have souls, and for me, it's purely a strat thing, not a tele, or LP, or SG, just strats. One wouldn't be able to gauge this without at least plugging it in and seeing if it has one. You could have a custom shop 5K strat that sounds terrible. You could have a $100 one that sounds incredible. Few speak to you, most don't, however, it's my opinion that every strat has the embedded potential to be one of these "voodoo" strats, and ought to be given the chance. But I can understand your reasoning, why pay for a guitar that shows up in poor condition with a bad setup? That's completely valid. I'm just a bit crazy in the head when it comes to strats.

Oh wow… really, not a problem, but I appreciate the follow up.

Some of the guys on this board have known me for years(Baimun, HelpI’marock, Prages. etc)… they know that I have the ability to burn through guitars pretty easy… but I really do enjoy them when I have them(for the most part). I’m fickle about my gear for sure!!!

BTW – I didn’t mean to come off so harsh as well.

Strat number 2 arrived. Better than last night's arrival but really high action and dirty. So dealing dirty. How do people let their guitars get this dirty.

just like anything else, most people don't take care of their shit. then it costs GC money to set up and re-string every guitar. which is why they don't do it.

Looks like a good deal but I missed some drama in the offing. Still. I feel kind of bad that I swapped my orange sparkle strat for a black one but that black has has this unique violin type tone under heavy overdrive that seems rare among strats. That and the bridge pickup is wired to the third tone control so I can shape it a little. Strats definetely have a wide range of sounds and I sure do like testing those variants.
 
My HSS is better! Not bragging, just truth. I should point out that I tried out over 100 guitars before I got this one. It has and will continue to be a tone monster.
 
I just picked her up today. The guy wasn't kidding. It was so new it still had he plastic on the pickups and pickguard. I adjusted the action a bit and put on some new strings. She is a beauty for sure!!!
