The New Taylor Swift Record

Hmm. It sounds like this may be a good record after all. Maybe the OP was in a bad mood when he reviewed it?
Does it contain any vagina inspired songs?

Because it’s Max Martin and Shellback cloning old Jackson 5 hits.

Yeah, my wife has been playing it on repeat and it’s definitely not on “Reputation” or “1989” level IMO…. But I’m definitely glad it’s more upbeat than the last two albums. The Tortured Poets album started a few fights in the car because I was tired of hearing those dour, sparse, monotonous songs that were putting me to sleep while driving on a long road trip.

Nah, bro. It’s not good. It’s generally lazy and not compelling. It’s a petty little record.

"Sparse" is definitely the word I've used many a time to describe that album.

For sake of not enraging my wife, daughters, relatives, and a very motivated mostly female segment of the population.... I just accept the fact that these songs and albums weren't written for me as a grown ass man... or as an aging dinosaur music adult. And that's okay. It's not like they're burning Prince albums or deleting Van Halen and Jamiroquai from the interwebz.

I also don't "get" TikTok dances, overly smoothed influencers who are supposed to be promoting products but the sound of their voices grates on my old man nerves like someone scraping ice off their windshield with a metal spatula. I will never attend a K-pop concert as I know I would feel as lost and confused as my grandparents in a RageAgainst mosh pit.

I'm with ya. Taylor's music doesn't do anything for me either. I have nothing against her or her music, but I do get tired of hearing all the hype about her though. Not her fault, just the media doing their thing.

I've never been to a K-pop show either, but I did once go to a One Direction concert with my daughter. Shortest beer line ever. It helped me deal with the piercing noise of thousands of screaming teenage girls.

I did take my daughters to a Justin Timberlake / Christina Aguilera concert back when I didn't really know much about either of them.

As soon as Aguilera started belting out those runs I realized she was way more than "Genie in a Bottle", and when Timberlake's guitarist started shredding some solos I thought.... "He looks so familiar...." until I realized it was Greg Howe!! Needless to say, I didn't just automatically write off any pop artists going forward simply because of their genre.

It's weird how it doesn't take that much more to make my ears vibe with a track....

Simply taking out the octave pads and synth drums... replacing them with real (or real sounding) instruments and I can get down with this. :baimun:
