What are your favorite Guitar Method books?

This one is good, too but I haven't used it much yet:

I like that one, not all the way through it yet, but getting there. I have a jazz book by Jody Fisher that's not bad either. It's a series of 4, but I only have the first one.

i'm doing my best here. maybe i'll get back to the Mickey Baker book 10 years from now. until then, i'll keep stretching.

You'll get there...we're all on the road to where we want to be on this thing. And when we get there we realize that we really wanted to get to the next town over, anyway :)

Those are pretty good, too. I have a few of his book including the 30 Day workout book that I got the stretching exercise from:

I know, i know, one should not become too dependant on tab, but i love these books.

Actually, I use <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref_%3Dnb_sb_ss_i_0_22%26field-keywords%3Dguitar%2520tab%2520white%2520pages%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%26sprefix%3Dguitar%2520tab%2520white%2520pages&tag=markweinguita-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957">Guitar Tab White Pages</a><img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=markweinguita-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:embarrassed:px !important;" /> when I teach because it saves me a ton of time in the lesson...I have 4 of the Hal Leonard books and one of the Warner Brothers version.

Over the years, I've got a lot out of Ted Greene's "Chord Chemistry" and Frank Gambales "Essential Soloing Theory Course"

I have 'Chord Chemistry'. I've had it since probably the early 80's but it is a bit beyond my ability to get much out of it since I don't play jazz guitar - plus my fingers are too dang short to finger some of the chords in that book...

I have it too, and I'm the same way. I pick it up every now & then, and try to pick up a couple new chords, and it's handy if I can't find a voicing I like for something. All the examples are a little too out there for me to really fit into my playing anywhere, but as I progress, maybe I'll start "getting it" a little more and find some of it more useful for what I do.

I know it's not a method book but I've always found this one VERY helpful...

Years ago when I first started I obsessed on several books: the Heavy Guitar Bible by Richard Daniel and the Guitar Handbook by Ralph Denyer.

I also later got into things like the Guitar Grimoire by Adam Kadmon and some chord books ("13,000 chords for the guitar").

Haven't checked a lot of the newer books but watching youtube lesson videos has been a big eye opener for me.

This may not be available to you, because it's published by the Guitar Workshop people, but I have found it an excellent book for people who want to get very serious about their playing...it doesn't LOOK like there's alot there, but once you start getting into it it gets very deep into things...

...plus the author is a really cool guy...
