White Elephant Recordingfest SONG REVEAL!!!!

I keep going back and forth "should I do a straight reading? respectful acoustic rendering? or full on asb bomb-fest?"
And yeah I'll be singing. That will haunt you 'till your dying day I tell ya.

Yeah, interpret any way you want.

This is gonna be cool.

Don't procrastinate too much folks. :embarrassed: I'd sure like to see 100% turnout.

Interesting tune that Blue Lady, never heard it before. Now to figure out how I will approach this.

It was a staple tune for every bar band in NZ in the 80's, but probably unknown outside of NZ and Australia. Incidentally, the singer, Graham Brazier auditioned for The Doors in the 90's.

I loved The Final Countdown when I was a teenager, even when everyone else was calling Europe a bunch of poofs. There's no way I could pull off the intricate bits, so I'll definitely need to do a reinterpretation. A bit fucking nervous to be honest.

So far I'm learning the structure of the tune I'm doing and found some surprisingly cool chords in what I'd normally have called a "power chord" song.

I'm torn between wanting to do full on headkick stuff and "screwing it up" so I'll probably do a bit of both.

I already worked on mine last night a bit. I have 3 options on how to play it. Bad, worse, and horribly. Lol. Just kidding.

I'd never heard mine before, so yesterday I listened a few times and tried some rough ideas. Will actually get to work on it after Pragestock.

I'm still trying to figure out how to approach mine. It won't be a copy, but don't quite know how to twist it yet.

Mine is gunna be awesome...Also, I came up with an idea for a future coverfest: we pick one song, and then everyone picks a song style to either do the song in themselves, or have randomly assigned to some one else...

I actually think I'm gonna be ok with this one after listening to it a few times. It should be quite fun.

So what are the kids using these days to upload tunes? I used to have a soundclick account, but I cant, for the life of me, remember the password...

Soundcloud is good as we have forum embedding.

I think I may end up doing 2 versions of my song. I came up with another way to do it, and I cant decide which way to go...so I think I'll do both...
