Recommendations for basic music notation software?

I’m looking for basic music notation software and wondering if you all know of something that might work for me. I’m mostly interested in capturing fake-book type information: time signature, music section labels, chords, bar lines and lyrics. Music staff of tab is not essential, but might be...

Does this look like an Electric Co. conspiracy ?

My first ac leak was on a 3 year old unit. Coil replaced under warranty and new one leaked 2-3 years later. Very frustrating. Don’t underestimate the effect of 0.8 to 4 deg temp differential. The load in your ac is largely proportionate to the temp differential between outside and inside. So...

Does this look like an Electric Co. conspiracy ?

looks like your electric usage has gone up. Warmer temperatures may be only part of the story. Are you setting your thermostat cooler? Or your AC may be going out. Years ago my ac had a refrigerant leak. I only noticed it when the ac ran for hours but wasn’t cooling. So the compressor and fan...

    Do you miss physical media?

I still like to buy physical media or at least digital files. When you rent music, “they” can alway decide to change the price or even take things out of circulation. I have albums and CDs that are no longer in print, no longer on any streaming service, or that have been replaced with new...

    Country Soul

I’ll have to check that Bobby Womack album out. Elizabeth Moen sometimes blends soul with a bit of country feel.

    Help! Static noise! Help!

The shielding needs to connect to anything that’s grounded. If it touches the housing of the tone or volume pot you should be good. But I’ve always confirmed with a digital multimeter.

    Help! Static noise! Help!

I’ve had this same problem on a few guitars, and this has always fixed it: Apply copper foil tape shielding to the back of the pickguard and ground it. If you don’t ground it, it won’t do a thing. I also foiled the entire puck cavity while I was in there, but I’m not sure that was necessary.

    Help. Copper Shielding Tape.

I just tear a tab and fold it over where it overlaps so that the sides without adhesive touch.

Ok, help me troubleshoot! (Fender talk)

If you have a buzz or hum that goes away when you touch the strings or other metal parts you have a grounding problem. Check out this video, particularly starting at 5 minutes in when he uses the digital multimeter to locate where the lack of ground occurs. You may have an electro-magnetic...

Is there a better solo performance than this?

I’ve recently learned about Madison Cunningham. Love this.

    RIP Michael Collins

I was just listening to the Jethro Tull song, “For Michael Collins, Jeffrey and Me.” I’ve listened to this song for 30 years and didn’t really know what it meant until two days ago. Interesting timing. Rest In Peace Mr. Collins. https://songmeanings.com/songs/view/45557/
