So I extended the edges of the neck down through the body and getting the placement of bridge posts correct. A little nerve wracking
A 1.25 degree shim in the neck. It’s a jazzmaster thing.

I moved the vibrato up 3/8” because the body is smaller than the jazzmaster

This is where I’d screw everything up. If I ever did something like this, I’d need one of those body blanks from Warmoth where the neck pocket, pickup and bridge routes were all done.

All righty! Switch cavity drilled and connected to the rest with a channel. That’s it for the front routs!
Output jack, string ferrules, some final body shaping and pickguard are all that’s remaining until it’s paint time.

Working on SN1, John’s firebird. Got all the front routs done and some basic setup to verify alignment. Looking good so far.
This one is ridiculously light. I’m betting 7 pounds or under when finished.

My mahogany was warped so I built myself a little sled to shim it flat and re-planed it. Should be good to go now.
Neck blank is rough cut now!

Now turning to SN3, which is my P90 version, I made a custom template for the body routs by combining elements from the original template and a P90 template I got from the same maker. In order to make sure I don’t get any alignment discrepancies, I’m using the new custom body rout template to make the pickguard template.
Now time to cut some mahogany and plastic.
