I’ve actually been watching some videos tonight. I like the Fender 2020 CUNIFE pickups the most in the demos but they’re about $200/pickup. My guitar has the “Vintera” versions in it.

I've been interested in buying one of the new Fender CuNiFe Wide-Range neck HBs to throw in the drawer for future use. $200 is practically "half price" for a real CuNiFe WRHB.

Yeah, I googled to find out who he was after I posted. Looks like he closed up shop for health reasons which sucks. I remember him making some pretty awesome guitars or basses for a friend who was in a wheelchair.

Those the hotter WRHBs that are really an Atomic humbucker in a WRHB case, I believe.

I went to his website but it wasn't there. Now Fender is remaking them.
The main thing to look for is the pricey CuNiFe magnets.

Rio Grande makes some nice wide range replacement pups as well. But they are not cheap....

I think I have to side with Lollar and Curtis Novak and others and say the thread magnet pole pieces go a long way to closing the gap, even without the CuNiFe. The big issue with the long-standing WRHB RI's was they were made like Gibson humbuckers, steel poles with a bar magnet underneath the coils.
But if Fender is going through the hassle to have threaded CuNiFe made...I'll spend $200 for one.
Yeah. This is probably the direction I'm going to go in.
This guitar is going to need a new switch sooner rather than later, too.

Definitely the wrong guitar, but I'm sure you're right for it.
I like the maple and the pickups (though I do prefer to see metal plates around Tele bridge pickups).

My thoughts exactly. My wife's thoughts are that any new guitar is the wrong guitar but I suspect Mark might be luckier with Mrs Wein in that respect.
I almost don't think of this as a tele. The back of the body has a slight contour like a strat, the pickups and the 6 saddle hardtail bridge the it out of my mental "telecaster" headspace.
