@Mark Wein ... Damn... I looooove the color, the relic, I even dig the oversized headstock with that body.... the pickups are sweet.... Personally, I would want a different pickguard with a different control configuration, but nice score!

ha, no, but I strongly approve.
And THIS is why I don't order guitars online. A purchase usually comes down to how the instrument feels and sounds. The last three guitars that I've bought were not what I went shopping for. The '71 Guild x500 was purchased while I was looking for an ES-175, the PRS was bought (at Jim's Music, no less) while ES-335 shopping and this was a strat-safari gone awry. I still need the strat but it'll have to wait, I suppose.ha, no, but I strongly approve.

Not sure which model it was, but the local GC had a Schecter that was a HSS strat, looked like a roasted maple neck. My friend couldn't put it down and he is a 80s style player.
I did not. It's amazing how few guitars these stores had on the floor and how slim the selection is.

Those Vintera pickups definitely sounded 95% of the way to the CUNIFE. Colour and headstock approved... now it needs tort.

They're a pickup designed by Seth Lover for Fender back in the '70s. They had a wider coil, the pole pieces were threaded CuNiFe magnets (not AlNico nor Ceramic), and three were exposed on each coil. They were voiced more like a Fender pickup than Seth's Gibson humbuckers.

This design isn't new. Fender sold a bunch of em in the 70s. Mostly in clear natural, doo doo brown, or burst, or at least thats the way I remember them.
Some of em had a f hole, some didnt. Best I remember they all had maple boards.
CuNiFe WRHBs, Gibson style controls.
Back in the day I knew a guy who had a brown one that looked exactly like that except for the color.
He got some great tones out of it paired with a Twin. Superb cleans and mighty fine slide tone.
