Saturday: Picnic/Party/Sleepover, The Girl's friend who also graduated with her this semester is from a family with a little bit of money. They have 3 daughters, two of which graduated college this year, one was turing 21. So they had a big Friends/Family type thing. They roasted a whole hog, first I'd ever been to a hog roast. It was delicious, along with all the other food, baked beans, deviled eggs, pasta salad. Then add 2 kegs, corn hole, washers, beer pong, flip cup, shots,.. It was a good day. We passed out on a couch in thier basement around 1 or so.
Sunday: Woke up to biscuits and gravy thanks to the mother/host of the party. Delicious. Then I relaxed the rest of the day.
Monday: Took the bike out to Deep Creek lake to watch a band play at the Honi-Honi bar. It's an outside, dockside, bar. Really good crowd, lots of dancing, the band was tight. Some songs sounded like a jukebox, no lie. Before leaving though my biker friend chickened out of going because of rain, so I drove up myself to meet another friend of mine who has a lakeside cabin up there. I get there fine, it's a beautiful day, so my chicken biker friend calls and says it's looking good and he's coming up. He gets there, we enjoy the weather for awhile and it starts looking bad. We decide it's going to rain so we go to my friend's cabin to wait it out. We eat sandwiches, hard salami, cooked salami, swiss cheese, longhorn cheese, honey mustard, kosher dill pickles, ... what was I saying again? Oh yeah, so then we go down to the dock, smoke a cigar and talk about times past. Finally my friend and I decide it's time to leave. Well of course now it starts raining. We get about 20 minutes into our 2 hour drive home and my friend pulls into a Wal-Mart, we walk through the isles soaking and driping wet, he buys a rainsuit for himself and a sweatshirt and gloves for his girlfriend, and we hit the road again. We're in the rain for probably another 45 minutes, completely drenched head to toe driving through winding backwoods WV roads, but then... the rain stops, the sun comes out, and it was beautiful. Easily the most amazing ride I've had so far. The warm air started to dry my clothes, the sun was going down over the mountain tops, the clouds hung in the sky much the same way that bricks don't. It was a great day.
