What are you guys practicing this week?

Working on some Allman Brother lines in Major Pentatonic - Blue Sky and Jessica. It's fun to be able to play [for a novice like me] and good inspiration for continuing to work on A Major and E Major Pentatonc scales.

does the type of metronome matter?

Well, a really good metronome will tap your foot for you. Just sayin.

    Help! Suggestions for Reading Book

I can read music. And I can read and play, at an elementary level, in several positions on the guitar, open, 2nd, 5th, etc. I'm looking for a good book to continue reading/playing so I won't lose that skill, even though it's not really my focus. It's also a good way to learn the fretboard...

What are you currently working on?

It took me two months and I'm just getting comfortable with it now (take into effect my forearm issues limit my playing quite a bit (2 or 3 hours a week). Damn, I'd love to be able to play an hour or two every night. Might cause the wife some distress though.

Help! Allman Bros - Mountain Jam

I've been trying to work out the basic beginning licks to this, and the basic chorus (the part that sounds like "First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain...."). It looks like it should be easy, but I can't match what I'm doing to whatever key or scales the Brothers are using...

Lick of the Week - Albert King!

Likewise. I'm guessing Clapton listened to lots of Albert and Freddy early on, even though he's more connected to BB via their recordings.
