What movies have you watched in the last few days?

Watched Knives Out. We enjoyed it, but I agree it kind of didn't know what it wanted to be.
The Good Liars. I really enjoyed it until it started getting dark. I still liked it.
Started Jojo Rabbit. It was freaking the wife out, so we bailed. I can't say I was digging it that much, either.
Ford vs Ferrari was great - even the wife loved it.
The Addams Family. Cute movie for kids, but no Addams Family charm.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. A long setup for a 5 minute punch line.

Ginger snaps (2000)... one of my all time favorite films. Very funny and cool teenage angst film that just happens to be horror. And werewolves.

John Carpenter's In the mouth of madness (1994)

Gonjiam: haunted asylum (2019)... korean found footage film. Slow burn but pays off in last 40 minutes. Only one in this list I haven't seen before.

Poltergeist II (1986)... really stupid, but entertaining partly because of hr giger effects. Old man with horrible teeth the most scary thing about it really though. Craig t. Nelson is sure an asshole in this.

Fairly faithful to the original story and fairly entertaining. Obviously featuring a hilariously over-the-top performance by Nicolas Cage.

Not great, not terrible

It was alright. One of the best Lovecraft adaptations which have by and large been trash. And Nick Cage only went "Nick Cage" like 3 times, which seems to indicate amazing restraint on his part.

Just watched Molly's Game yesterday. I liked it all around. Nice to see Micheal Cena play an asshole for once too.

I'm probably very late to the game but Jessica Chastain finally wooed me.

All watched with my son:
  • The Girl With All The Gifts - it was decent, but the book was considerably better
  • Bladerunner 2049 - Really liked it
  • Good Will Hunting - He dug it a lot
  • Currently watching The Stand miniseries with my son - I forgot how cheesy a lot of the acting and directing choices were. He's enjoying it.

Ginger Snaps is an all-time favorite of mine too!

I haven't seen Poltergeist II since it was current. What was the hymn the sinister minister kept singing? Was it 'Bringing in the Sheaves', or 'Shall We Gather at the River'. or something like that?

I remember enjoying In The Mouth of Madness, I should revisit it. I haven't seen Gonjiam but I will check it out.

We watched Spenser Confidential. Not going to say it was a great movie but more entertaining than I was expecting.

Watched Togo the other night. Pretty good for a Disney movie and watched Bombshells last night. It's worth a watch too.

I watched Walk Hard the other day since I'd never seen it and it was on. It kinda went downhill after the first 20-30 minutes, but still had some funny moments throughout.

Also watched the first Fast and Furious movie since I'd never seen it either. It was entertaining as a cop/action movie.

Neither will be remembered as landmark films.

I actually preferred the German version Die Farbe, which portrayed the mood a lot better. If you haven’t seen it, check it out.

Walk Hard is national treasure!

I've been watching a TON of Omeleto, Dust, and Alter. They are YouTube channels that have short films. Dust is Sci Fi, Alter is horror, and omeleto does both.
